Together in Christ for encouragement, service, & spiritual growth
The women of Hillside are involved in many fun and enriching opportunities which can allow you the opportunity to grow in your relationship with God. Bible studies, retreats, and volunteer opportunities are just a few ways you can connect with other women in uplifting and encouraging environments.
Angel Tree Program
Every fall, we receive Angel Tree Tags from The Salvation Army. The tags are placed on a tree in the foyer and have the names, ages, and gift suggestions for children and senior citizens in need who live in Berks County. Choose a tag from the tree, purchase a gift, and return the wrapped gift to Hillside by the date listed. All gifts are collectively delivered to The Salvation Army in Reading for their Christmas party.
The women's bible study is open to all women in the church and community. The study is generally held in the spring and fall on Thursday evenings at the church starting at 7:00 p.m. It generally runs two hours (one hour of group discussion, followed by one hour of DVD-led teaching). If you have a desire to learn and grow in the Word and your relationship with our Lord and Savior, please consider joining us.
This ministry provides cards in time of need, such as health issues, recent bereavement, and cheer. Names and addresses can be submitted to our leader listed below if you know someone who would appreciate this act of kindness. Laura McIntosh, firstname.lastname@example.org
This ministry prepares communion by making the bread and filling the plates with bread and juice before worship service.
Before each seasons we like change the decor so that Hillside is as uplifting and festive as possible. If you are a crafty person and would be interested in helping out in this capacity, please contact Angie Staudt (610) 858-1996 email@example.com
Each quarter we plan a fun church event so our congregation has a chance to fellowship, form new friendships, and strengthen bonds within our church family.
Annual Ladies Day
Ladies Day is an event for all women at Hillside and their friends to spend a day digging into God's word and applying it to their lives. There is worship, games, food, and door prizes. It is a great opportunity to grow your relationship with God and other women while having fun doing it!
This is an ongoing ministry designed to aid families during times of illness, recovering from surgery, bereavement, or a recent birth. Volunteering with this ministry means you could be called a few times a year to prepare a meal. They may be hot or cold (and can be home-cooked or store-bought).
The Women’s Ministries makes monthly contributions to Hannah's Hope in Berks County. Hannah's Hope is a ministry that serves homeless women and children in Berks County.
Haitian Feeding Station
The Women’s Ministries makes a monthly contribution to GMDM. Our Dominican friends have set up a feeding station in Caracol, Haiti. This station feeds 75+ children twice a week and distributes clothing to them. Future plans include: building an orphanage, school, and worship area. Contributions may be made through the Women’s Ministries.
This is a ministry of Hillside, but organized by the Women’s Ministries. Thanksgiving baskets are filled with food and gift cards to provide a traditional Thanksgiving meal for a family that otherwise may not have one. There are many ways to support this mission, whether it's donating food, or by filling and delivering the baskets.
